#GNOME ponders dropping the fallback mode (i.e. gnome-panel+metacity+all the obsolete stuff) for 3.8. Good idea?

No maintenaner == code/feature should be remove. Like in kernel.

Keeping backward compatibility at all cost isn't good idea.
