Cool stuff in OpenSSH 5.9: %u is expanded to local user in ControlPath directive. At last it is possible to have something like this in ssh_config:

ControlPath /run/user/%u/ssh-multiplex-%r-%h-%p

And have no stale multiplex sockets on fresh boot.
